Speed Dating review... Speed Dating is relatively new - but has become one of the more popular forms of dating. Established in 1998 by Rabbi Yaacov Devo - speed dating is based on a Jewish tradition of chaperoned gatherings of young Jewish singles. The intention was to keep Jewish singles from marrying outside their faith. The event went so well it caught on around the world.Since 1998 speed dating has been widely popularized and continues to grow rapidly. You can find speed dating venues in most major cities in the US and like us you will be seeing it more and more in smaller areas. There is also an abundance of speed dating in the UK.
Many movies and TV shows are showing speed dating venues... So you probably have an idea of how speed dating works. If not -- we will explain... A group of singles will gather at a venue. There are several 2 seated tables at which couples are paired up to begin the first date. Each date will last 2-7 minutes (depending on the rules of that venue) then a bell rings and the men move to the next table in line. If you want to see a person again- you give your information to the host to be passed on to that person. Pretty simple and effective. There is also plenty of time before and after the “dates” to mingle; creating a fun exciting evening for all.
