Love Myths
Mr or Miss Right will be perfect. First of all - no one is perfect!! If you are looking for that "perfect" person... you will either be looking a long time or be very disappointed. YOU are not perfect so why would you expect someone else to be? (and if you think you are?... well that's a whole other issue) We are all human... we all make mistakes - bad choices - get in bad moods - ect. Humans aren't perfect. And I'm pretty sure you want a human - not a robot... right? I can change him/her. This is the one I have the most trouble with... I always think: "With my help he won't do this or that anymore". Guess what?... Never works! We are who we are! You aren't going to change them. Just think how hard it is to change yourself!! Love conquers all. Although you might hear people say they broke up/divorced because they "just fell out of love". That's probably not how it started. Many people break up/divorce over issues such as: values - backgrounds - behaviors - beliefs - and even hobbies. And we all know the #1 cause of divorce is financial. So what do all these things have to do with love??... not much! Lot's of people that brake up/divorce still love each other but these other issues just can't seem to get worked out. So no... Love does NOT conquer all!
So you say... "Man all these negatives! Can't we just live happily ever after?" I say YES! Yes you can! But be prepared to work! Relationships take work. You will always have your ups and downs - but so does every other relationship in your life: your job - friends - children - parents. Most relationships aren't always peaches and cream... but we work at those relationships because they are important to us.
